Use this form in order to register a trade name with Maryland's Department of Assessments and Taxation. A trade name is a business name (other than the legal name of a business entity) used by the business in commerce. You may wish to register a trade name with SDAT if you only operate within the state of Maryland or only use this trade name in Maryland.
