Once a case reaches the U.S. Supreme Court, there is no further appeal. The U.S. Supreme Court is free to accept or reject most cases that are appealed to it. Only cases with important constitutional questions or where there is a conflict between states are generally accepted.
Cases may be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court from the U.S. Appellate Courts or from the highest court in the individual states.
