Driving Without a License

A person operating a motor vehicle without a license or one that has been suspended, expired or revoked commits a misdemeanor offense. In some states, the driver is required to serve a minimum of 3 days in jail, plus pay a fine.

TIP: If a notice of license suspension or revocation has not been received, the driver has a defense and may avoid a conviction for driving without a license.
