Driving with a Suspended License

Operating a motor vehicle after your license is suspended means a further period of suspension. Additionally, you may be labeled a "habitual offender" and the suspension could become permanent.

What are some defenses to driving on a suspended license?

Some defenses for driving with a suspended license include:

  • never receiving official notice of suspension
  • the suspension was improper and your license has been reinstated
  • not actually "operating" the vehicle pursuant to the legal definition
  • not driving on a public road
