Age Discrimination in Employment Act

In 1967, Congress enacted the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) prohibiting all forms of job discrimination against older workers. The ADEA is enforced by the EEOC and provides that an employer cannot discriminate against employees over 40 years of age by treating that person differently than the younger counterpart.
